Its hard dancers to do multiple tasks while dancing however its common among east African countries cultural performers that they have to follow a rhythm of a particular instrument to guide them throughout the performance, particularly in Uganda the calabash is used during the rakaraka dance and in this painting, Godfrey tells the story of female dancers that hold calabash in their hand while dancing.
