Gusenga Patrick

A third born in the family of five kids, Patrick was a blessing to the family for he created artworks at home at a tender age that ferried almost everyone around the village to his home to see the beautiful artworks he drew, he used to draw cartoons and characters from movies. His parents could not hesitate to take him to an art school, Patrick went to the prestigious Rwandan art school Ecole de art Nyundo and majored in graphic design and painting, he has mastered the technique of portrait painting and computer graphics to an extent that he has become a consultant in the field at a very young age, humble and reserved Patricks’ ability can only be seen when you put him to a test to do you art then he speaks a loud voice with his tools and the message in his works are strong. In his artworks, Patrick takes a critical view of social, political and cultural issues. often referencing Rwandan history, his work explores the varying relationships between popular cultures and fine art, Partrick thinks of his works as unfinished inventories of fragments, he creates room in them as improvisational sites in which the constructed and readymade are used to question the making of the world through language and knowledge, in his work he makes arrangements that are schematic inviting the viewer to move into space of speculation, he finds inspirations from desires for beauty and seduction( what surrounds him)

He signs his work as Gusenga Arts.
